New Hope for Chronic Fatigue Recovery

New Hope for Chronic Fatigue

By Patty Butts, Ph.D.
An alkaline diet may be the answer for some who suffer from Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, a debilitating disease that sometimes makes you feel like you’re going to die. More than 800,000 people in the US suffer from this disease.

Several years ago I experienced Chronic Fatigue for the third time---only this time the duration was only for a few months. An alkaline diet was my salvation. When our body is alkaline, candida, fungus, yeast, mold, parasites, viruses, and bacteria do not thrive. According to Dr. Robert Young, author of The pH Miracle, microforms are the major players in chronic fatigue syndrome. If your body is acidic, it is likely you have microforms.

How do you know if your body is alkaline or acidic? Dr. Robert Young, suggests you use litmus paper (you can buy it a health food store) and get an indication of where the pH of the urine is by testing the first morning urine. Take a strip of the pH paper and wet it. If the paper does not change color, that indicates a highly acidic body. Urine should be 6.8 to 7.2 (medium green), if it too much color (dark blue) that also indicates highly acidic. Remember this test is an estimate. The best way to measure pH is ask your doctor to do a fasting urine and blood analysis. These tests may take two to four weeks to find the results.

Dr. Chi C. Mao, chief medical officer at Select Specialty Hospitals in Houston Texas endorses Dr. Young’s theories on disease and his understanding of the acid-base balance. “…so far the implementation of his theory has had a profound impact on the treatment of a wide array of diseases such as diabetes, cancers, chronic fatigue syndrome, obesity, urinary calculi, and more.”

Fourteen years ago, I had CFIDS (Chronic Fatigue Immune Dysfunction) for the first time and it lasted for a nightmarish four years. At first I didn’t know what was wrong with me---my lymph nodes were swollen and tender, my body ached all over. I had fibromyalgia in my feet and each step was painful. My memory kept getting worse and I had a continual sore throat. Walking from my house to my car was like walking five miles.

Continually exhausted, there were nights when I could not sleep at all, but there were also weekends when all I did was sleep because I was too exhausted to get out of bed. When I stood up I felt like I needed to lean against the wall to support myself because I was frequently weak and dizzy. Although I was a licensed professional counselor, I could not help myself. I was in a quagmire of depression and hopelessness.

When I first became ill, I had a microscopic blood check in a health food store where they discovered many parasites in my blood stream. Live cell analysis involves taking a sample of your blood and magnifying it many times and then viewing your blood on a monitor or screen. Tiny little parasites were swimming around in my blood. As I marched off to my physician, hoping for a cure, he told me that it wasn’t possible to have parasites in your blood. “You are probably just suffering from stress or depression.” He referred me to a counselor who thought Prozac was the panacea for every depression.

After one week on Prozac, I was more depressed than ever. By the end of the second week I felt suicidal. When I called the counselor, her suggestion was to double the dosage. I was not going to double the dosage. While stress contributed to my depression, I knew I needed to get physically well. When I stopped taking the Prozac, the suicidal feelings went away.

CFIDS attacks the central nervous system and most people with the disease are depressed. In addition to the chemical causes of depression, emotional causes include: feeling trapped, hopelessness, anger you turn in on yourself, loss, and guilt. All are common feelings of CFIDS sufferers.

My doctor sent me to a psychiatrist, who, on the first visit and without any testing, wanted to put me on an MAO inhibitor. I didn’t buy into this. He suggested my symptoms were psychosomatic.

Desperately, I made the rounds trying to find a doctor who could help me. Finally, after more than three, years I found an internal medical doctor who specialized in CFIDS. At the time I was so debilitated and my hope of getting better so dim, I recall telling him, “I either want to get better or I want to die.” I didn’t feel suicidal, but I felt like I was among the living-dead.

He wanted to put me on medical disability, but I refused. I knew that if I went to bed I might never get well again. As a school counselor, I was committed to the young people I worked with and I could work sitting down. After work, I went home and fell into bed. Every morning I felt like I was pushing a ten-thousand-pound block off my body just to get out of bed, but I did it. Slowly! There was no hurry in me.

The doctor prescribed diflucan for candida. While there may be many causes of CFIDS, an acidic pH balance, candida, EBV (Epstein-Barr Virus), and parasites have been identified as some of the main contributors. I had all four. Within a week of taking diflucan I began to regain energy and feel better. During my bout with CFIDS I would sometimes cycle and have a few days where I felt almost healthy. Thinking I might be well and that the plague had ended, I would over work and be right back where I started or even worse. This time, although still weak, I consistently got better, especially as I worked hard to reduce stress in my life.

Three years later they found a small spot on my liver. Liver cancer. Because of my fragile immune system I knew I could not do chemotherapy and so did my physician. Another doctor who did a microscopy test on my blood said, “You have more parasites in your blood than anyone I have tested.” He put me on a vegan diet and I made drastic changes in my eating. I started using the remedies for killing parasites in the blood that were suggested by Dr. Hulda Clark, in her book, The Cure For Any Cancer. Because I had all kind of digestive problems, bloating, constipation, gas pains, it is possible that I had colon cancer at the same time. Within three months of using the diet and supplements, my cancer was in remission.

I have no doubt that stress contributes to CFS and creates an acidic reaction within our bodies. This is why it was called the “Yuppie,” disease. Type “A” personalities, driven to overwork, success, and incredible stress are prone to CFIDS.
Six years ago CFIDS again flared up in my life after the death of my husband. He had not been well for eight years. Six months prior to his death he was on oxygen in the evenings and while asleep he would accidentally pull the oxygen off, then wake up because he couldn’t breath. I would readjust the oxygen, he would go back to sleep, but I would remain wide awake because of my concern for him. Many nights I had only three or four hours sleep.

As a widow I experienced considerable stress and exhaustion. Within ten months I had Chronic Fatigue again. This time my doctor insisted I take medical leave for several months which I was grateful to do. Shortly thereafter I retired. I no longer had the energy to work. Within three months I started feeling better, but if I overworked or had too much stress I was ill again. My doctor allowed me to exercise for five or ten minutes, depending on my endurance. It took nearly a year to regain my strength.

Two years ago I was in a stressful environment and Chronic Fatigue flared up again, but this time it only lasted several months. An alternative physician in Florida discovered I had CFIDS and candida again (this comes not only from what we eat, but also from stress in our life that creates a very acidic condition in our body where yeast, fungus and mold thrive). The doctor put me on diflucan and after a week I experienced severe pain in my kidneys. Immediately he took me off the medication. By coincidence, two friends introduced me to a green drink of 49 different grasses including barley and lemon--- I began eating a more alkaline diet. Within a week I experienced a tremendous surge of energy and vitality and have remained healthy and well since that time.

Recently I had a woman come to me for counseling. Although presently I am retired and working on a doctoral dissertation in Holistic Nutrition and the impact that alkaline dietary changes have on CFS, she was so desperate I agreed to see her. For 15 years she had been treated for depression with little or any improvement. She had just discovered that she had CFS and had likely had it for many years. Over the years she had often felt suicidal and worthless. She had little energy to do anything and could hardly get out of bed in the morning. After the session I asked if we could talk about nutrition. She was eager to learn. She bought Dr. Young’s book and started on an alkaline diet, liquid green drinks sodium chlorite, caprilenic (to kill candida), essential fatty acids, and a homeopathic remedy for anxiety and sleep. At first she would call and complain about the diet. It was difficult for her, but she stuck with it. Three weeks later she called and said, “I have energy. I can get out of bed in the morning, and I have lost eight pounds.” There was vitality in her voice.

As I have researched and talked to people who have overcome Chronic Fatigue with an alkaline diet, I have been amazed at some of the results. Carol, had chronic fatigue for 16 years and tried everything. At one time she was taking 55 capsules a day. “I had a fisherman’s tackle box to organize my supplements,” she told me. Although her health had started to improve three years ago, she claims it was the alkaline diet and green drink that “pushed me over the edge to good health.”
Neem pills are wonderful to get rid of candida.
I strongly recommend Emotion Code and Body Code to help you heal. Go to www.HealersLibrary.com and click on "find a  practitioner."

I wish everyone who is suffering with this debilitating disease could have the same success. This is my passion, to educate and help people heal.

Over the years I have learned many things about Chronic Fatigue. The first step in healing is to cleanse the colon:
  1. Candida, parasites, and EBV or other viruses can contribute or cause CFS.

  2. Candida thrives in an acidic environment in our body.
  3. Stress is a significant contributor to an acidic environment.

  4. An alkaline balance in our body helps heal our bodies.

  5. What you eat is of vital importance—eat alkaline.

  6. Essential fatty acids (EFA’s) help bind and eliminate acids in our body.

  7. Twenty percent of our daily calories should come from EFA’s.

  8. Microscopy is good diagnostic resource to find out if you have parasites, candida, or what your body needs nutritionally.

  9. Detoxification is an important part of healing, but some may need to do it slowly. SuperGreens help to nourish the body as you detoxify.

  10. Sometimes you feel worse during the detoxification program—some people do better by a gradual detox , while others can do it in a week to ten days.

  11. Cleansing the colon and the intestinal tract is part of detoxing. Fibrada, Naturlax, Casasagrada, are good cleansers.

  12. Adequate nutrients are not absorbed when hardened feces stick to the colon walls. This is why some people are always hungry.

  13. Eat a low-mucoid diet. Nonmucoid matter moves through the body faster than mucoid foods.

  14. Mucoid forming foods include all dairy products, such as cow’s milk, skim milk, cheese, cottage cheese, butter, yogurt, whey and ice cream. Also, all flesh foods—meat, fish, foul and eggs.

  15. Magnesium deficiency may also be a problem for CFS patients.

  16. Take a good organic source of vitamins and minerals.
  17. Avoid all forms of sugar, fruit, caffeine, alcohol, and refined carbohydrates.

  18. Consider acupuncture treatments to balance your body and strengthen your immune system.

  19. Try meditation, Thi Chi, self-hypnosis or other stress reduction techniques.

  20. Pray and turn your life over to a higher positive power to help you.

Lemons help fight cancer

Cancer, lemons

Institute of Health Sciences, 819 N. L.L.C. Charles Street Baltimore , MD 1201.
This is the latest in medicine, effective for cancer!
Read carefully & you be the judge.
Lemon (Citrus) is a miraculous product to kill cancer cells. It is 10,000Times stronger thanchemotherapy.

Why do we not know about that?
Because there are laboratories interested in making a synthetic version that will bringthem huge profits. You can now help a friend in need by letting him/her know that lemon juice is beneficial in preventing the disease.
Its taste is pleasant and it does not produce the horrific effects of chemotherapy. How many people will die while this closely guarded secret is kept, so as not to jeopardize the beneficial multimillionaires large corporations?
As you know, the lemon tree is known for its varieties of lemons and limes. You can eatthe fruit in different ways: you can eat the pulp, juice press, prepare drinks, sorbets, pastries, etc.. It is credited with many virtues, but the most interesting is the effect it produces on cysts and tumors. This plant is a proven remedy against cancers of all types.
Some say it is very useful in all variants of cancer.
Some say it is very useful in all variants of cancer.
It is considered also as an anti microbial spectrum against bacterial infections and fungi, effective against internal parasites and worms, it regulates blood pressure which istoo high and an antidepressant, combats stress and nervous disorders.

The source of this information is fascinating: it comes from one of the largest drug manufacturers in the world, says that after more than 20 laboratory tests since 1970, the extracts revealed that: It destroys the malignant cells in 12 cancers , including colon, breast, prostate, lung and pancreas ....
The compounds of this tree showed 10,000 times better than the product Adriamycin,a drug normally used chemotherapeutic in the world, slowing the growth of cancer cells.
And what is even more astonishing: this type of therapy with lemon extract only destroys malignant cancer cells and it does not affect healthy cells.

Emotion Code Helpful in Healing

The Emotion Code is a form of energy healing, that helps to literally get rid of emotional baggage from the past. I see amazing things happen with the emotion code and releasing trapped emotions. I just worked on a friend who had a headache, severe anxiety, and fatigue. The pain for the headache went from a 9 to a three as did the anxiety and fatigue in less than 30 minutes.

"The Emotion Code is an energy healing technique that helps us to identify and literally release trapped emotions- which are harmful emotional energies from negative past events. Trapped emotions can cause depression, anxiety, they can block people from love and happiness and make them feel disconnected from others. And because trapped emotions are made of energy, just like the rest of the body, they exert an influence on the physical tissues, and can cause acute pain and even cancer. Releasing trapped emotions makes conditions right for the body to heal- so physical and emotional difficulties often disappear or become much more manageable." I do counseling and hypnotherapy and find emotion code faster and more effective in helping others heal.

"Just about everyone has some amount of emotional baggage from painful life events, Emotional baggage is very real, and although it's invisible it can really mess up your happiness, your success and your health. "Trapped Emotions are literally like balls of energy, vibrating at different frequencies depending on what the emotion is (for example, Anger is a different vibration than Sadness or Insecurity). Trapped Emotions are negative, destructive vibrations, and tend to affect the body wherever they are stuck, creating pain and malfunction of bodily tissues, even disease..

The following link is an excellent link to an article about Methylation, which leads to hundreds of diseases. .

"Methylation, it’s a big word that you probably don’t think applies to you, however, knowing about methylation could improve or save your life.  Methylation is the process of taking a single carbon and three hydrogens, known as a methyl group, and applying it to countless critical functions in your body such as: thinking, repairing DNA, turning on and off genes, fighting infections and getting rid of environmental toxins to name a few."

Chronic Fatigue is not death, but it takes your life away.

I was so exhausted when I had chronic fatigue, I had a drawing of a tombstone on my desk that read,

"Here Lies Pat,
She's just a guest...
Don't wake her up,
She needs the rest."

Getting up in the morning was like beating a dead horse. I felt like I was among the walking dead. My sleep varied between insomnia and somnalism. I never felt refreshed, even after sleeping twelve hours.

Most, if not all CFIDS/FMS patients have an associated sleep disorder such as alpha-EEG anomaly, insomnia, or sleep apnea. Alpha—EEG is characterized by the ability to fall asleep without much trouble, but the deep level of sleep is interrupted by bursts of awake-like brain activity. Patients seemed to spend the night with one foot in sleep and the other in wakefulness. Other patients deal with inability to fall asleep or early morning insomnia. Research suggests this may be due to the body clock or circadian rhythms.

Circadian Rhythms are our body’s natural cycles that control appetite, energy, mood, sleep and libido. When our body is out of sync with nature, we suffer from a Circadian Rhythm Disorder. Almost all of us, at some time during a year fall out of balance and suffer from sleep, mood or anxiety disorders. Fortunately, after decades of research, science has found the way to create circadian balance.

Circadian rhythms control the timing, quantity and quality of the hormones and neurotransmitters the body produces and eventually secretes. Hormones and neurotransmitters are the elements that determine how we feel, our sleep patterns, our appetite, our sex drive and other sleep and mood-related issues. When functioning properly, our circadian rhythms create circadian balance. When out of balance, quantity, quality and timing of hormone and neurotransmitter secretion suffer and our bodies suffer from a circadian rhythm disorder (CRD).

Researchers at the National Institute of Health found that that using light therapy at specific times of the day could re-entrain circadian rhythms to a normal pattern. They discovered that a very specific range of blue light is the most effective color (wavelength) in treating these disorders. Apollo Health has spent the last several years working with leading experts to develop an innovative line of BLUEWAVE products. Their goLITE delivers effective wavelengths, which means a more convenient treatment, and fewer side effects than traditional 10,000 lux full-spectrum light therapy devices.
BLUEWAVE (goLite) is the result of ten years of research with medical universities and the National Institutes of Health (NIH). Apollo participated in this research and  produced lights that are twice as effective at shifting circadian rhythms and suppressing melatonin when compared to 10,000 lux and white LEDs.* Phillips has bought Apollo and you can go on line and check out your own circadian rhythms now. Here is the link:

In my case, for Advanced Circadian Rhythm Disorder, I began sitting to the side of the goLite (which was placed on my table where I could read) at 6:30 p.m. for 30 minutes for two evenings. The third night the time changed to 7 p.m for one night, and the fourth night at 7:30 p.m. for 30 minutes. This treatment continued for six days and by the end,  my circadian rhythms were back to normal. The length and time will vary according to your assessment and what kind of sleep disorder you have.
I have successfully used the goLite to help a number of people balance their circadian rhythms. . My neighbor hadn’t had a good nights sleep in over two years. She checked her circadian rhythms, borrowed my GoLite for several days and for the past year she has slept peacefully. I have also used it with CFIDS/FMS patients who experienced improved results in sleep and mood.

Dr. Oz recommends taking magnesium an hour before bedtime to help insomnia. I have seen Emotion Code help people with severe insomnia.  There are also hypnosis tapes for insomnia that have good results.

Over use of Prescriptions

I just talked to a woman who has chronic fatigue and fibromyalgia. She is taking 11 prescriptions. What are the side effects of those prescriptions? Some of them can be addictive. She is not getting better. I recovered from CFIDS/FMS, but it was with an alkaline diet and supplements not a handful of prescriptions

Healing, Cleansing Alkaline Diet

Healing Alkaline Cleansing Diet

First thing in the morning and on an empty stomach drink
1 to 2 scoops L-Arginine mixed in 4 to 8 ounces Kangen or distilled water.
Wait 20 minutes before eating or taking supplements.

Breakfast:
Avocado Shake,
Mix in a blender ½ peeled lime, scoop out 1 avocado, ½ cup unsweetened almond or coconut milk and 1 packet of stevia. Blend until creamy. If too thick, add more almond milk. You can also add one tablespoon of coconut oil to this mixture. You can add the pulp and juice from a baby coconut to this if you desire.

Green juice
Juice 5 stalks celery, 1/2 bag of spinach, 1 English or two smaller cucumbers.
You may add a small slice of ginger to this mixture if desired. This can be
refrigerated for a day.

Liquid chlorophyll : Drink 4 to 6 ounces or more a day. This may be added to water, and is best done two ounces three times a day.

Lunch and Dinner

Broccoli /Cauliflower Cream Soup

Braise ½ onion and three chopped garlic cloves in two tablespoons olive oil.
Cover with water and add one crown cut up broccoli, cauliflower, Brussel sprouts if desired, or asparagus. Add only enough water to cover vegetables. Add salt and spices you like to taste. Dill, curry, basil, rosemary, are suggestions. Bring to gentle boil, reduce heat and cook on low for 15 to 20 minutes. Cool, pour in blender until creamy.

Chew plate for snacks or with soup.
Sliced cucumber, two small cherry tomatoes, guacamole

Additional shakes may be added for more calories or for those who don’t want to lose weight.

Drink juice and liquid chlorophyll throughout the day. More juice or soups may be made if you are still hungry.

L-Arginine for healthy circulation and muscle metabolism also contains magnesium chloride which strengthens bones and muscles, Co-Q10 for energy production in every cell, B-vitamins for mental health, and Vitamin D-3 as an immune booster and helps overall health, including mental health.
Now, I realize that people with chronic fatigue don't always have the energy to juice. Hopefully someone else can do it for you. If not, you can take powered green drinks and barley pills. Avoid drinks with fruit and spirulina. I like AlkaVision, Inner Light Green drink, and the pH Miracle Green drink. I buy my barley pills from www.greensupreme.net and take about 20 a day--7  fifteen  minutes before breakfast, 7 fithteen minutes before lunch and six before dinner.

Free Binural Music to help Heal

This is a link to listen to music that can help your body heal, relax, and it sometimes relieves pain by increasing the number of synapses between the  cells and the brain waves. It is called brain wave entrainment. This relaxing music video on YouTube  made me want to fall asleep.

Magnesium Deficiency Contributes to Disease

According to Dr. Norm Shealy, virtually every known disease
is associated with magnesium deficiency, including asthma, hypertension, cancer, diabetes, migraine, allergies, myocardial (h), and depression.”

Magnesium is a co-factor in activating over 300 different biochemical reactions in the body including: energy production, protein synthesis, bone formation, creation of new cells, activation of B vitamins, function and relaxation of muscles, functioning of the heart, kidneys, adrenals, and brain as well as the nervous system.

Researchers at the University of New York found that the lower the level of magnesium in the body, the higher the blood pressure.
Magnesium deficiency may also contribute to CFIDS and Fibromyalgia.

Good sources of magnesium include fish, avocados, apples, brown rice, millet, nuts black-eyed peas, lemons, grapefruit, green leafy vegetables, and tofu.

Lemons And Limes Alkaline

Acording to Dr. Robert Young, "It is often said that 'acidic' fruits like lemons, limes and grapefruits will acidify the blood and tissues. In fact, the citric, lactic, and other acids in such low sugar fruits - unlike high sugar fruits - exsist primarily in their anionic (basic or electron) form, especially as their Na+ and K+ salts (e.g., potassium citrate). Following absorption, these anions (bases or electrons) are metabolized to sodium bicarbonate. Thus, lemons, limes and grapefruits alkalinize - not acidify - blood and tissues."

Drinking a glass of warm lemon or lime juice each morning will make your body more alkaline, but don't add sugar or other sweeteners, except stevia.

I think there is hope for Recovery

I think there is hope for recovery from CFIDS and Fibromyalgia and I am hoping that others who have recovered or who have discovered things that have improved their health will share their knowledge.. For five years my recovery seemed hopeless....now my passion is to help others recover.
If I had chronic fatigue again, I would take Neem Pills, coconut oil, go on an alkaline diet, and do "The Emotion Code," (written by Dr. Bradley Nelson) either by reading the book or finding a practitioner who can help release trapped emotions. Trapped emotions from our past can not only cause emotional problems, but can contribute to illness.

Several months ago my eleven -year-old granddaughter dropped by and I couldn't help but notice her continual hacking cough. I released trapped emotions, and the rest of the evening she didn't cough at all. It was amazing. Not only that, she has not had a problem with her asthma for the past two months.

I Recovered from Chronic Fatigue and Fibromyalgia

"Chronic Fatigue is not death, but it takes your life away."
My journey from Chronic Fatigue began 17 years ago when I was diagnosed with CFIDS and Fibromyalgia. I was so ill my doctor wanted to give me medical disability. After four years of agony I said to my doctor, "I either want to get better or I want to die."I wasn't suicidal, I just didn't have the energy to live. Since then, I have recovered even though the Center for Disease Control says there is no cure. I drastically changed my diet from the typical SAD (Standard American Diet) to an alkaline diet (it includes lots green vegetables), finished a degree in Holistic Nutrition and have more energy than I did 30 years ago. My passion now is to educate others and give them hope for recovery.
My doctoral dissertation explored the results of an alkaline diet on patients who had significant disability and pain from CFIDS/FMS. After they were on the diet for a period of three months or more, all of them experienced significant improvement in their symptoms and were able to resume normal activities. They had outstanding improvment in decreased muscle and joint pain. A hundred percent of partcipants had improvment in 13 out of 16 symptoms. According to several doctors, and Dr. Robert Young, "Yeast (candida), fungus and mold, are major players in Chronic Fatigue and Fibromyalgia."
pH is also a very significant factor in these diseases. The more alkaline your blood and tissues, the less pain you will have.
An article in the journal of Medical Hypothesis proposed that glutathione, an antioxidant essential for lymphocyte function, may be depleted in CFIDS patients. Glutathione is needed for both the immune system and for aerobic muscular contraction. Depletion of the supplement could cause the muscular fatigue and myalgia associated with CFIDS/FMS.

Chronic Fatigue and Hope

I have a friend who has had chronic fatigue for over 16 years. He has made the rounds of doctors with no improvement. I encouraged him to change his diet and buy Dr. Robert Young's book "The pH MIracle." He also bought my book on my recovery from CFIDS. In the beginning, he gradually changed his diet to an alkaline diet, drinking three to six liters of green drinks a day and sometimes juicing green vegetables. Since candida is a major player in CFIDS and Fibromyalgia, his doctor put him on Terbinafin. It is supposed to be as strong as Diflucan but not have the side effects to the liver and kidneys. He has avoided eating grains and dairy since many CFIDS patients are gluten and lactose intolerant. He has eaten quinoa, millet and buckwheat and used rice, almond or soy milk in place of wheat, rye or oats, and dairy in addition to the alkaline diet
This week I received this email from him, "Yesterday I felt better than I have in a very long time. I am getting closer and closer to 100%.
